The Cody Adventures program is a progressive series of week-long adventure trips across the White Mountains, Acadia National Park, the Maine seacoast, and Nova Scotia. The program serves as a capstone experience following each two or four-week session at Camp Cody. It’s a terrific way for campers to explore New England (and Canada) alongside bunkmates from their previous session. Campers age twelve through seventeen, who have just completed a two or four-week session, at Camp Cody are eligible to participate in the program.
The week-long trips consist of various outdoor activities (hiking, ocean kayaking, rock climbing, mountain biking, surfing, etc) paired with sightseeing and our never-ending quest for the best ice cream shop in New England. While a good amount of time is spent outdoors, these trips are intentionally designed to accommodate all members of our camp community and strike a happy middle ground between Camp Cody and a traditional teen tour. You don’t need to be Bear Grylls but it helps if you like lobster bakes!
Exploration, fun, friendships and adventure await our Mountain Explorers. Created for our younger teens excited for a week of hiking, biking and canoeing along the Appalachian Trail through the White Mountains. We’ll explore Franconia Notch State Park by bike and then hike in the Presidentials. We’ll also canoe the Saco River or raft the Androscoggin River. This experience offers a week of fun and adventure with friends on an exciting introduction to Cody’s Teen Adventures.
Acadia, one of the most spectacular National Parks in America, awaits our Acadian Explorers. We’ll be sightseeing in Bar Harbor, hiking, biking, kayaking and exploring Acadia on land and water. In doing so, our Explorers will experience one of the best trips of their lives. We’ll explore rocky shorelines, go tide-pooling and ocean kayaking, climb Cadillac Mountain, bike around the island, campout, enjoy lobster bakes and sleep under the stars. Cody’s Acadian Explorers get to enjoy some of the most breathtaking scenery on earth, with great friends.
A summer at Camp Cody doesn’t get much better than when you combine it with exploring Maine’s famous seacoast. Cody’s Seacoast Explorers will be sightseeing in Portland, Camden, and Acadia. We’ll be exploring rocky coves, spectacular shoreline and Maine’s coastal islands while ocean kayaking, hiking, biking, swimming, and tide-pooling. There’s no better way to end a Cody summer than with friends on the trail and water, exploring a beautiful new destination.
The ultimate destination for Cody Explorers lies across the border in Nova Scotia. A place of spectacular scenery, charming towns, villages and farms, all surrounded by rocky coves and breathtaking seascapes. Mixing sightseeing, hiking, biking, kayaking and Whale Watching, we’ll explore this beautiful maritime region. Our older Teen Explorers will visit Lunenberg, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and then explore Mahone Bay by kayak. After sightseeing in Halifax, our Nova Scotian Explorers will hike in Kejimkujik National Park and swim in Lake Kejimkujik. This tremendous expedition ends with a ferry ride back to Portland Maine, with great friends and lifetime memories.
Campers are eligible to enroll in the Cody Adventures program immediately following their two or four-week session at Camp Cody. Each Cody Adventure has a unique packing list that will be provided upon registration. However, most gear will be provided by Camp Cody.
