Position: Head of Sports

I keep coming back to Camp Cody every year because of the people. One of the lessons I learned early on was to cherish every single moment. During pre-season, I had a long day with my team getting the fields and the courts ready. One morning, I brought them all coffee and donuts and we spend over an hour just talking and getting to know each other. This small moment brought us all closer together and we kept that energy going throughout the summer. My first summer, I also had a really special moment with a camper that loved Basketball. It was the last period of the day and he was the only camper on my roster. Instead of sending him to another activity, we played 1-on-1 and I taught him some new skills. It clearly made his day and it made me realize why I do what I do. There’s no other place in the world where you can make the friends and family that you make at Cody. I will always cherish the friends and the memories that I have made here.
