Much like waterskiing, wakeboarding at Camp Cody is open for every camper to try. New skiers learn with a teaching "boom" on the side of the boat, providing a steady grip for campers to acclimate to before moving on to the real thing. Getting up on the board for the first time is quite the accomplishment, and campers are acknowledged for their achievements on the water during our daily all-camp assemblies!

Waterskiing at Camp Cody is a blast, and every camper has the opportunity to try this thrilling activity! Whether you're a Pio or a Senior, there is ample time to master this sport. Basketball is one of our favorite activities. Our lessons take place on our court at the heart of camp, where everyone gathers for all-camp activities and assemblies, as well as all-camp basketball games! In our lessons, basketball instructors give campers the building blocks for a slam dunk. We practice passing, dribbling, lay-ups and rotation through various positions, so campers get to try a little bit of everything! As campers age, lessons evolve into fast-paced (but fun!) scrimmages and games that inspire teamwork and collaboration.

Hit a home run in baseball and softball! These fun activities are team-oriented and focused on participation and encouragement between campers. Everyone learns the rules of the game and the basics of a swing and a catch. As campers age, Progressive Programming advances, and the activity becomes more complex, fast-played and fun!

Standing up on your SUP is easy! Even campers new to stand up paddle boarding will quickly get the hang of it on our calm lake. Our instructors (certified lifeguards) teach campers the stance, stroke, turns, how to paddle straight and even falling techniques. Once they have the skills, campers can take their SUPs anywhere!

Campers have the opportunity to canoe at our waterfront! Whether they wish to learn the basics, improve their skills and navigation or simply be out on Ossipee Lake, canoeing is an excellent opportunity for discovery and fun. For adventurous campers who want to explore off-site, we occasionally bring our boats and paddles on trips to the Saco, Pemigewasset and Adroscoggin rivers. Grab your life vest and hop on!

Rowing combines grace, skill and balance while giving campers a full physical workout. It all takes place on the beautiful Ossipee Lake! Beginners learn the basics of rowing including the necessary equipment, how to carry the boat and oars, the importance of maintaining equipment, proper technique while rowing and water safety issues while rowing. Campers receive both land training and on-the-water instruction, equipping them for a fun time! Sculling and Sweep Rowing are the focus of this program.

Score a goal in lacrosse! Campers first learn the rules of the game, various positions (defensive and offensive) and how to hold and use a stick. Passing is the building block of play, so we focus on drills and fun games to practice these fundamentals. Campers have the opportunity to rotate through various roles and positions as they please, so anyone can have a turn as the goalie, midfielders or specialized offensive and defensive roles.

The Wibit is our awesome, interactive waterpark course on Ossipee Lake that changes the meaning of play, adventure and fun! Scale the climbing wall, bounce on the trampoline, launch from the "blob" and slip down the slide. No day is a fulfilling lake day at Camp Cody without the Wibit!

Woodworking at Camp Cody means creating all sorts of cool shapes and functional pieces from natural materials! The first thing campers learn in the wood shop is the workshop setup and rules. The wood shop runs a tight ship, with all equipment and materials in their proper places, to prevent any accidents in the workplace. Campers learn about the tools involved, how to use them and what safety equipment is necessary while working in the wood shop. These classes are always under attentive supervision of skilled instructors. Once these fundamentals are gleaned, campers are free to craft to their heart's content!

Sailing across Ossipee Lake is fun, thrilling and rewarding! There is no better way to bask in the sun on the lake with friends and enjoy the beautiful scenery. Before venturing out, however, campers learn to tack, furl, come about and skipper on our sailboats. Our Red Cross certified instructors teach campers how to use the wind to get from A to B in an efficient manner. Sailors are always accompanied by our instructors while exploring the surface and shoreline of Ossipee Lake.

Archery is a fun activity to learn, and it's very popular here at Camp Cody! Our range has six targets that are replaced each summer, as well as high quality longbows, recurve bows and even compound bows for advanced archers. Our experienced instructors pay close attention to form and technique, helping campers improve precision and focus. Again, safety is the #1 priority at the range and our experienced instructors are diligent about teaching proper archery etiquette so campers can have fun!

Hockey is a sport that fosters participation and strategy, which we work hard to promote in our activity sessions. At Camp Cody, we offer both street hockey and field hockey, giving campers variety and choice. Instructors begin by teaching campers the rules of the game, form (how to hold a stick and use it) and strategy. Our focus on the court is fun and participation, fostering an environment focused on teamwork and positive sportsmanship.

Cooking is an extremely popular activity at Cody, and it's not hard to see why! Campers get to make and eat yummy and healthy treats. The best part? They are also learning useful life skills. All of the cooking basics and techniques are learned, and campers have choices when it comes to planning the menu for this activity. If campers dream it up, we can make it -- together!

Ceramics is a great way for campers to improve their motor skills and use their hands to create beautiful and functional pieces! We practice hand building as well as throwing on the wheel, so campers can try a little bit of everything or excel in their area of choice. Make decorative items and figures, dinnerware (bowls and plates) and anything else the imagination conjures up!

Hop into the saddle and stirrups in our Equestrian Program, where riders of all levels and disciplines thrive!

Whether they wish to learn the basics, improve their skills and navigation or simply be out on Ossipee Lake, kayaking is an excellent opportunity for discovery and fun. Swimming is at the core of lake life at Cody, enabling them to partake in any and all waterfront activities! Our swimming lessons take place at our Swim Pier on Ossipee Lake and are taught and supervised by attentive Water Safety Instructors and Lifeguards certified by the American Red Cross. Swim classes are both instructional and fun, and scale in difficulty with our camper age groups. Even our most timid swimmers have an opportunity to thrive in the water, as they are encouraged by our mature, professional swim staff. Each camper’s achievements are recorded so parents can keep up with their progress.

Bump, set and spike! Our volleyball lessons are fun and informative, as well as team-oriented. We work hard to provide a structured activity that offers room for campers to grow, while having a blast. Of course, we start with the basic rules of play, form and strategy. Drills help campers to practice their newly acquired skills and fun matches are a great way to boost participation and engagement. Ready to ace it?

In our scuba program, campers get to explore the waters of Ossipee Lake, taking a plunge into one of New Hampshire's most amazing bodies of water! In this activity, fun is the goal and safety is the priority. Our instructors are NAUI-certified and diligent when it comes to teaching campers about safe underwater exploration. They teach campers first and foremost how the equipment works, how it is maintained, how to operate scuba tanks and how to swim efficiently with fins. Dive right in!

Soccer is one of our most popular activities and a great sport to learn! Our skilled instructors teach the fundamentals of passing, shooting, trapping and dribbling, giving campers the building blocks for more advanced play. As campers age, the lessons are more focused on technique and tactic, offering a rewarding experience for all divisions!

Tennis is a regular activity at Camp Cody, offered to every division as a cabin activity. However, we also offer Private Instruction which takes the form of one-on-one lessons and small group clinics. These lessons are as much about honing individual player skills as they are about sharing the love of tennis with other skilled players. Learn more about our Private Instruction!

Learn one of the first sports to be played in the Olympics: fencing! Fencing is the perfect activity for honing motor skills and hand-eye coordination, as well as reflexes and strategy. Based on the traditional skills of swordsmanship, how could this activity NOT be fun? Try it this summer!

At Camp Cody, football is an excellent choice for those interested in a contact sport that is very team-oriented and physically engaging! In addition to teaching the traditional football fundamentals, our instructors spice up lessons with different variations of the game such as flag football, as well as fun drills and exercises that encourage participation and teamwork.

The White Mountains in New Hampshire are an amazing place to explore and to learn about our surroundings and natural habitats. At Camp Cody, we offer a survival skills activity for those campers interested in learning more about the environment and how to use this knowledge. Campers will learn how to pitch tents, make a fire, identify plants and animals, and more! Not only is this activity focused on learning, but it's a great way of bringing campers together in a collaborative way to creatively solve problems.

Our videography class is not only a fun, engaging activity, but an opportunity for campers to document their favorite things about camp so that the Cody memories live on! Campers learn how to use our digital recorders, film originally-scripted scenes (acted out by fellow videographers) and edit clips into videos in iMovie. At the end of the session, campers in the videography class have the opportunity to showcase their work in the talent show. What better way is there to celebrate and remember camp?

Camp Cody's dynamic music program is perfect for those who wish to learn or improve guitar riffs, ukulele chords, piano skills and more. Budding musicians, as well as those who have never played an instrument in their life, will have the opportunity to learn and grow at Cody. Instructors focus on giving campers the basics to practice at camp and at home, so when the session comes to a close, students can continue learning on their own!

In our Arts Center, campers can explore any craft they choose! There is no limit to creativity at Cody. Campers can learn beadwork, candle making, beginning and advanced lanyard techniques, DIY crafts (such as lantern-making and picture frame crafting, both of which can be used to decorate cabins), jewelry design, leather crafting ... The list goes on! If campers want to learn something new or put their creative spin on a craft, Camp Cody is the place to do just that.

Looking for some zen at camp? Or perhaps you'd like to work on your flexibility and focus? Yoga is an excellent choice! Our skilled instructors teach campers basic poses and walk them through the yoga flow, increasing difficulty as campers progress through the divisions. Namaste!

Our private golf lessons are designed to empower campers both on and off the course while cultivating a love for the game of golf! Beginners are introduced to the basics of golf as well as etiquette, rules, pre-shot routines, scoring and club selection. Intermediate golfers work on improving their swing mechanics and short game such as how to save strokes by playing off the cart path, pine straw, mulch and side-hill lies. As campers advance, instructors add driving techniques with all woods. Learn more below!

Hip, hop, twirl, turn ... Our dance teachers will teach it all! From ballet fundamentals to hip hop moves, campers can experiment with all things "dance." Activity sessions are shaped to the interests of the campers and our instructors help them to choreograph and perform a polished routine. They can even perform their hard work in the end-of-session talent show!

Looking for a quieter activity? Fishing could be the one! Wade in the lake or cast from the dock --
either way, campers are bound to reel something out of the water. Not only is this a fun activity, but it offers a learning opportunity as well. Campers are taught about fishing basics and the fishes that call Ossipee Lake home.

Learn how to stick it! Our Gymnastics Program meets the experience and skills of gymnasts at all levels -- including beginners! Our program offers springboards, balance beams, a tumble track, uneven parallel bars and more! Whether campers are practicing their first cartwheels or perfecting techniques, Camp Cody has something for everyone.

Laser tag could very well be the most popular activity at Camp Cody, and it's easy to see why! Campers are divided into two teams that disperse on our designated grounds in the woods. They can use their environment, wooden boards, plastic crates and other materials to their advantage as they strategize over how to defeat their opponents. The last one whose laser isn't deactivated is a rotten egg!

For campers who love cooking AND the outdoors, why not try outdoor cooking? Instructors will teach the basics of building a fire -- which is at the core of this lesson -- and show campers how to use it. Roast, fry, boil and slow-cook ... Learn how to do it all outdoors!

For those interested in building gadgets and experimenting, rocketry is a fun and rewarding activity. Campers design their own rockets to be launched into "space" with the help of their counselors. They will learn how the design impacts the efficacy of the rocket, the mechanics of the launch and what to improve for the next rocketry session. Blast off!

Try a NEW activity at Camp Cody! Water polo is a fun and competitive team sport that takes place at our swim pier. This sport is a great opportunity for intermediate swimmers to practice their water skills while engaging in a fun game that supports teamwork. Make a splash this summer!

Hit one out of the park in softball! Our skilled instructors teach campers the rules of the game, fundamental techniques and the importance of underhand pitching. Catching, batting and passing drills help campers refine their skills, while games promote team spirit as campers cheer for each other on the field!
